We have organised a trip to Alton Towers for over 650 children in care, foster families and care leavers. The event takes place on Saturday 28th September 2019.
There will be a big convoy starting at Nottinghamshire County Hall, West Bridgford. The convoy includes children from local Authorities across the East Midlands including Nottingham City Council, Derby City Council, Derbyshire County Council, Leicester City Council, Leicestershire County Council, Rutland County Council and Northamptonshire County Council.
Terry Galloway the Managing Director at Norman Galloway lettings is doing this convoy because he grew up in care in the 80’s and 90’s and lived in over 100 places by the time he was 16.
Terry said “It is not nice growing up in care, you feel lonely, isolated, not listened and you miss your mum”
Norman Galloway Lettings have been fundraising for months. They have raised over £30,000 in money and goodwill. They want to make sure that these kids have a good day out.
“I want our children in care and care leavers to know they are not alone. There is hope and there is light at the end of the tunnel.”
